Our Fave Greek Mythology Films

Get out your DVR and start up the TV – check your wirelessinternet.net for listings to find one of our favorite Greek mythology-based movies that have hit theaters in recent years – they’re a hoot!
Troy: The epic classic was made into a blockbuster film all the way back in 2004 and it had some of the decade’s biggest stars. It’s a free interpretation of the story but it had all the elements that made it mythical in the first place.
Alexander: Around the same time as Troy came out Alexander made waves, too. It starred Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins and many people didn’t agree with the treatment of the title character’s sexuality. Whatever you thought of the minutiae the mythological elements are lined up with the original story – don’t get caught up in the war story.
Wonder Woman: You may think the Marvel classic has little to do with Greek mythology but Wonder Woman was originally based off of the Greek’s treatment of Amazons. It’s a great film to boot so check it out and get lost in all the symbolism.
